FUNGAL NAILS

Fungal nails can result in sensitive thickened discoloured nails. To ensure the most relevant treatment is provided, your GP may send nail clippings to a laboratory for analysis, if the cause is a fungal condition, treatment may be in tablet form or a topical paint on treatment, available on prescription. To prevent the transmission of the infection to other nails ensure good foot hygiene, and use separate nail cutters for infected nails. It is important to treat this condition early.
